Talking of make-overs, I thought I might move straight on from the pine cupboard to ME. I, too, could do with a bit of reviving and a new lease of life. Sarah Whittaker, who so impressed me when I went for a styling session at Charles Worthington's Percy Street Salon, does one-to-one consultations either at home or she'll take you shopping (£65 an hour) and help put a whole look (or indeed whole wardrobe) together. She'll revamp your existing wardrobe - that is look at everything in it, advise on what to keep, what to throw out, how to rework the good things you already own, for £250. She'll do a proper full profiling consultation which will give you all sorts of guidelines as to the sort of clothes that suit you as well as specific suggestions for particular garments, for £295. She seemed to suss what suited me immediately and I think she'd be great for specific problems - tracking down the perfect suit, for instance, which is nothing like as easy as it sounds as shapes of jackets and trousers both vary enormously and yet matter hugely. But I found her general advice to me (about shapes of jackets and trousers) immensely reassuring - they confirmed what I'd somehow worked out for myself but she gave it more focus.
