How Image Profiling Works

The Wardrobe Shrink™

how it works

Image Profiling is about defining your aesthetic composition to determine your 'Image Type'.

To understand your aesthetic -  your colour, light, form, and affect, Sarah Whittaker uses various forms of analysis.  She gathers information from your photographs and the on-line personality questionnaire, which examines your personality traits, personal history, and self-image.

Sarah doesn’t need to meet you in person to know your personal preferences or to look inside your wardrobe to know who you are.  Whilst your existing wardrobe gives useful information about your psychology and how you perceive yourself, it is your aesthetic that gives the clue to your true nature; the outer reflects the inner.  Using an objective eye and her perceptiveness to examine your aesthetic correctly, Sarah identifies the archetypes or idea behind your image to determine your ‘Image Type’.

For the Colour Consult, Sarah focuses primarily on your Colour Signature - the elements of your inner nature that are represented by your external colour qualities. (see colour, shade & light below).

The consultations are performed remotely via the internet and by phone.  Her consultation became remote so she could continue to serve her European clients when she moved to the USA from London.  Sarah now works with clients universally through the web and phone consults.  Sarah also works face-2-face with clients upon special request.

Examples of Analysis:

What is analysed:

  1. Colour, Shade, Light - your key hues, colour temperature, chromatic value, luminosity and colour psychology

  2. Form - your body architecture, shape, and constitution

  3. Affect & Emotional Response - personality, personal presence and how you impact others

Colour, Shade & Light

You have an inherent colouring - an undertone to your skin and colouring of hair and eyes, but it is the language of the colour that is important to decipher: your colour temperature - cool or warm, your colour value - light or dark, and your primary hues that express your colour psychology, these all make up your colour signature. They determine not only what your colouring says about your inner nature, but how you appear as an image, how you appear when adorning colour and how you impact that colour and your surrounding, and the emotional response you evoke.  Colour is extremely important in the analysis as it creates such an instant impact and can so easily be diluted, affecting you psychologically and physiologically. Architecture & Composition

All aspects of the self are interconnected and, like joining the dots, they bring into focus the whole and complete picture. Your body architecture is made up of lines or contours that mirror your personality.  Geometrics are also linked with colour, and, like colour, they can be distorted and then either over-emphasise or make invisible the original form. Your form also determines your constitution, explained most effectively through the ideas of William Sheldon and Anthropometry.

Affect & Emotional Response

Just as a painting has an affect on you and evokes an emotional response, you have an impact on others that leaves them with a feeling and a sense of who you are. This affect isn’t only a visual one, but more a result of your presence, your manner or your vibe - that intangible quality that elicits an often unconscious reaction.  Your presence can be explained using archetypes of the 3 stages or ages of man or woman - Boy, Patriarch, Sage or Maiden, Matriarch, Seer.  Each of these stages have sub-types and there are normally 2-3 sub-types that will express you the most and be associated with your Image Type.  Some examples: Maiden/Boy - Creative Child, Matriarch - Queen of Hearts, or Sage - King Pin, to name a few. Your presence is very important as it defines your genre; just as within Art there are categories and different periods that tell us what theme and style to expect, the male/female archetypes tell us your themes.

Your personality, unlike your presence, is more obvious and direct, and is assessed through the personality questionnaire.  Your personality is the collection of individual character traits. It is your modus operandi – how you see the world outside you and interpret it internally, and how you relate to yourself and interact with others.  It shapes the choices you make in life, and defines your interests and hobbies.
